5 digit cross network shortcodes enable you to provide premium SMS or reverse-bill services for content delivered to a mobile user's handset. Ideal for content and information service providers who wish to benefit by receiving revenue for their services.
Our cross-network 5 digit dedicated and shared shortcode services provide you with all the features of our Virtual Mobile Number services but allow you to charge premium rate, zero rated or toll-free for content delivered to a mobile user's handset.
Premium rate SMS or reverse-bill services are provided as mobile terminated (MT) SMS services. This means that the mobile user pays their standard network charge to send a text message to your service and is then charged a premium rate for the text message that they receive.
We can offer a range of tariffs such as 25p, 50p, £1.00 and £1.50 across all UK mobile networks. The premium revenue from these services is shared by the mobile operators, Mobifi and you and you will receive your revenue share or out-payment according to the tariff selected.
A zero-rated shortcode service enables mobile users to send messages to your dedicated shortcode but they will only incur their standard network charge for sending the message.
Mobifi can now provide Toll-Free SMS shortcodes which will allow organisations to provide mobile users with a 'free' SMS text messaging service. As the demand for business SMS text messaging increases, organisations are seeing the value in providing shortcodes to attract communication from mobile users.
Toll-Free SMS shortcodes take this one step further - by providing the mobile user with a free to use service, invaluable to councils, marketing agencies, promotions companies, etc who need to engage the mobile user with greater effectiveness.
Toll-Free SMS works with all UK mobile networks except for O2 which is expected to support Toll-Free SMS in due course. Any SMS text sent to a Toll-Free shortcode from an O2 mobile user will be charged at the standard network tariff rate.
