How Mobile Email Works
The Mobile E-mail solution is based on the message master™ which offers seamless integration with your mail server. The solution provides the following functionality:
- Fully automated wireless notification on new e-mails via SMS
- Users can define the way of being notified and how the notification should be displayed on their mobile
- Sends SMS messages to your outdoor employees like e-mails (e.g.+441701234567@mobile.mycompany.com)
- Supports answers to mobile e-mails (answers to your sent SMS messages are delivered as e-mails)
- Supports SMS-to-e-mail (inbound SMS messages are delivered as e-mails)
- Integration with Outlook address books, Exchange, Lotus Notes, etc. via MAPI, POP3 and SMTP
- Supports GPRS mail push to mobile devices including Pocket PCs and JAVA phones (immediate delivery of new e-mails - no need for extra dial-up to your company's mail server)
The message master™ Mobile E-mail solution is the perfect mobile notification engine and includes all useful e-mail features that can be implemented utilising SMS messaging. The integrated GPRS engine - in conjunction with the mobile client software - provides the unique feature of e-mail push. Also as a standardised solution message master™ requires usually only a few hours for deployment.
Components
Only a few prerequisites are necessary to implement the mobile e-mail within your company:
- message master™ XSP license
- Windows NT/2000/XP standard server
- TCP/IP connection to your mail server (POP3/SMTP)
- GSM Modem for SMS messaging or access to SMS backbone providers
- Permanent Internet connection, mobile terminal devices (e.g. Windows CE or JAVA enabled) with the message master™ Mobile Client for e-mail via GPRS
