message master™ XSP is a powerful, advanced and fully XML-based messaging middleware for rapid design and deployment of SMS and MMS solutions.
The message master™ Messaging Backbone solution supplies network carriers, wireless application and Internet service providers with a standardised, highly powerful and scalable SMS message transport and routing solution. Features like clustering, workload balancing and failure recovery provide all that is necessary to build solid backbones for international mobile messaging.
With a maximum message throughput of 150,000 SMS/hour on a standalone server (Windows) message master™ XSP pro will meet the challenges of a mobile messaging backbone. On top of powerful message routing and delivery message master™ will also serve as an application server and is able to host a wide range of mobile value-added services.
How Messaging Backbone Works
The messaging backbone solution is based on the message master xsp pro version which is designed to handle high-volume SMS message traffic. This version offers the following functionality:
- Third-party APIs including XML, HTTP, SMPP, SMTP, COM, Java for submitting and receiving messages via the backbone
- User account management including black & white list handling (accessible from outside via XML API)
- Inbound and outbound message routing (network-,number-, prefix-based)
- Workload balancing and fallback routing (standalone and clustering)
- Database-driven high-performance message queues for inbound and outbound traffic (transaction-based)
- Message priorities
- Multiple protocol and multiple carrier connection engine (Sema OIS, SMPP, UCP, CIMD2)
- Comprehensive database logging
Besides the advanced message routing and transport message master™ XSP enables you to rapidly deploy database-driven features like automated auto-responders, voting, newsletters and other value-added services conveniently through a graphical user interface. As a standardised solution message master™ XSP usually requires only a few days for deployment.

Only a few prerequisites are necessary to implement the messaging backbone solution:
- message master™ XSP professional version installation (2 and more for clustering)
- Windows NT/2000/XP standard server or Sun Solaris Server (2002)
- SMSC access via X.31/X.25 (Eicon hardware required), TCP/IP (leased line or public Internet access), Frame Relay
